Barrett and Katie’s Wedding

Posted by Dave on October 17th, 2006

Saturday I went to Barrett and Katie’s wedding. Chris McKean and I drove down Saturday morning, stopping off at Chile’s in Charlottsville for lunch and arriving in Lynchburg around 3pm. The wedding was in a small church north of Lynchburg, and the service was nice and short, maybe 30 minutes long. The reception was cool. They had a really neat introduction video that they played at the wedding that can be seen HERE. On top of that they had a suprise visit by the Hokie Bird. (Barrett and Katie are Virginia Tech Football season ticket holders) and the night ended with 20 minutes worth of Fireworks. The honeymoon has been redirected to St Lucia due to the Hawaii earthquake. Congratulations Barrett and Katie!!

Week 6 Fantasy Football Update

Posted by Dave on October 17th, 2006

The Vikings were off this week but my 3 fantasy football teams played and for the second week in a row I won two and lost one. Here is where I stand in the 3 leagues:

LEAGUE WINS-LOSSES PLACE
Bob’s League 7-4 1st of 8
Barrett’s League 8-3 3rd of 18
Jon’s League 8-3 1st of 10

**Standings Updated 11/21/06

Although I’m at 3-3 in Bob’s league, I only trail the leaders by 1 game and I have a pretty solid team. In Barrett’s I sit alone in first despite losing my first game this week. In Jon’s league, there is another team at 5-1, but I currently hold the tiebreaker advantage.

Video Tab fixed (no really)

Posted by Dave on October 7th, 2006

Ok, it seems when I thought I fixed the Video tab the other day, I just made it so I could see the files and no one else.  Thanks Bob for pointing out that it wasn’t working right.  Anyways, now its really fixed,

Going for ten in a row

Posted by Dave on October 5th, 2006

Vikings have beat the Lions nine straight times.  Sunday they will go for number ten.  Also look for the Vikings to score 20 or more points for the first time this season.  I predict a 28 to 13 win.

The Twins have dug themselves into a 0-2 hole in the divisional round of the playoffs against Oakland. Radke, who is retiring after this year takes the mound tomorrow as they try to get back into the series.

Twins host As, 1pm

Twins won the division on the last day of the season, overtaking Detroit by one game.  This means we start against Oakland at home instead of traveling to NY to take on the Yankees.  Santana goes agains Oakland’s ace, Barry Zito.  Minnesota came back from twelve games behind Detroit in the standings in July to win the division.  The StarTribune reports this is the 3rd best come back in MLB since they split the conferences into divisions in ‘69.

In other news, the Vikings may have lost Sunday, but my fantasy football teams went three for three to bring my season record to 9 wins and 3 losses.
